How to use a bath bomb

How to use a bath bomb

Using a bath bomb takes about ten seconds. A few small choices around those ten seconds turn a nice bath into a great one: softer skin, a longer scent and the full show. Here's how.

Fill the tub first

Fill the tub, get in, then drop it. In still water, the bomb dissolves at its own pace, so the fizz lasts, the color unfolds around you, and the scent stays with you for the whole bath.

Keep it warm

Warm water is where the oils do their best work, and it lets the scent open slowly over the whole bath. Aim for water you can sink into comfortably and stay in.

Twenty minutes is the sweet spot

Twenty minutes gives the oils time to soften your skin while the water is still warm. It's the right length for a bath that ends with you relaxed and your skin conditioned.

One bomb, one bath

Each of our bath bombs is made for one full bath, so a whole one gives you the full scent, color and oils it was built with. For a small tub or a foot soak, half is plenty, and the other half keeps for next time if you store it sealed and dry.

Follow it with a cream

This is the step that makes the biggest difference. Pat your skin dry, then smooth on a cream while it's still slightly damp. Our Magnesium Cream, with lavender, is made for exactly this moment before bed.

The bath softens your skin. The cream is what keeps it soft.

Store them sealed and dry

Keep bath bombs in their wrap, somewhere cool and dry outside the bathroom. Stored that way, each one keeps its full fizz until the night you use it.

FAQ

Do I rinse afterwards?
It's up to you. The oils keep softening your skin after you step out, and a quick rinse gives you a lighter scent if you prefer one.

Can I use two at once?
Yes. Two of the same scent make a richer, stronger bath.

Will it stain my tub?
Our colors are chosen to disperse and rinse clean. We wrote more about it in do bath bombs stain your tub.

Which one suits sensitive skin?
Start with the Oatmilk Fragrance Free Bath Bomb, made with oatmeal, honey powder and coconut milk, fragrance-free.

The whole method

Fill the tub, keep it warm, stay twenty minutes, use the whole bomb, and finish with a cream. Everything else is up to you.
